Legal and Trademarks

The marketing name is what is used in the logo image. The logo is comprised of the text “Exterran” combined wth the stylized sweeping “x” for one visual element, providing a visual reference to the company.

In legal documents, and according to the legal requirements in some countries, the name under which the company is legally recognized must appear in a document or on material such as stationery, signage or business cards. Your legal counsel will determine what is valid for your country or in the way you are referencing the company.

In general, on letterhead, the logo (which incorporates the marketing name, “Exterran”) will appear at the top of the page as shown in the stationery layout section of this booklet. The legal name, e.g., Exterran Holdings, Inc., would appear in the address block, above the address. It clearly communicates that the company specified in the address block is the one conducting business at that location and that it is related to Exterran, the corporate entity. Similarly, the stationery on which a legal document is drawn may have the symbol at the top, but the body of the contract and execution line would use the legal company name.

On brochures and marketing materials, generally, the marketing name would be used. In a brochure, the legal name can be incorporated in fine print next to the copyright line or in fine print on the back, if required.

Under no circumstances should the legal name be juxtaposed against the marketing name.

Legal names for specific business units will be posted on the Exterran intranet (http://www.myexterran.com) for employees and authorized users. For clarification or assistance, contact the Exterran Corporate Communications or Legal Departments.

The Exterran logo is a company trademark indicated by the ™ which is placed next to the logo. This protects the company against infringement of its corporate symbol. Where the logo is used within marketing materials or in publications, a copyright notation must be included in the document.

Copyright verbiage and trademark placement is as follows:
