Company Culture

Exterran employees are as diverse as the global marketplace in which we have operations. We are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends and neighbors. And, we give back to the communities in which we serve.

Annually, Exterran employees support such charitable endeavors as the United Way, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the March of Dimes, Junior Achievement, Toys For Tots and our servicemen and servicewomen through the Project Yellow Ribbon Campaign.

Exterran’s operations in the greater Houston, Texas, area will support several charitable activities each year, following on the traditions of Hanover and Universal Compression:

  • Volunteer employees teach classes for Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas at a nearby elementary school during both the fall and spring semesters.  Junior Achievement is an organization that strives to “educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives.”  Employees participate annually in the JA Bowl-a-thon.
  • Volunteer employees support the Multiple Sclerosis Society by participating in the MS-150 bike ride, the largest fund-raising ride for the MS Society in the United States.  The event is a two-day ride from Houston to Austin, with a stop over in LaGrange.
  • Houston area volunteers also send care packages to our employees, friends and family who are currently serving in the military in Iraq and Afghanistan in the Project Yellow Ribbon Campaign.

Exterran locations outside of the greater Houston area also lend their support to local and regional charities of their choice. This allows our locations to best support charities with needs specific to their locales and to the employees of Exterran locations.
