Filter Separator

Exterran’s Filter Separator can play a vital role in helping keep contaminants from damaging your valuable natural gas production equipment. This compact, highly durable coalescing separator-filter combination is typically used in line with compressors, dehydration units and fuel gas units in high-gas/low-liquid flow applications. It removes small solids such as dust and rust as well as lube oil and glycol, allowing you to produce cleaner natural gas outputs.

Key Benefits

Performance

  • Help protect your equipment from damage with reliable filtration and particle removal down to as low as .3um
  • Reduce downtime with our proven pre-engineered design

Value

  • Stock inventory and quicker delivery allow faster startup
  • Latest ASME design and construction standards ensure high performance and safety

Confidence

  • Added assurance of a warranty running until the earlier of 12 months from startup or 18 months from delivery
  • Prompt, professional service, support and spare parts from local technicians in every major oil & gas producing area in the U.S. and in numerous areas throughout the globe

How It Works

The natural gas stream first passes through filter tubes and elements that capture solid particles and cause liquids to coalesce into larger droplets, which are then captured by the wire mesh or vane mist extractor. The resulting stream is typically free of particles two microns and larger and up to 99.5% free of particles as small as a half micron. Captured droplets collect in one or more liquid boots and the fluid is eventually discharged to liquid storage by an automatic level control valve.
